BACKGROUND

Amanda Mustard is an independent photojournalist based in Thailand. She is also a board member of the Frontline Freelance Register as well as the Foreign Correspondents Club in Thailand, where she is the exhibition curator. Until it's 2016 close, she was also a member of the Makeshift Magazine editorial board, an independent quarterly magazine about grassroots creativity and invention around the world.

CHALLENGE

As a professional photographer, Amanda finds it very disempowering to have her creative property stolen, especially when it's a big company, leaving her feeling powerless. From Amanda's perspective, she sees a crushing sustainability crisis amongst the photo industry, that in her view, will only get worse, particularly as the sales value of imagery continues to drop, and the ubiquity of content, lack of ethics + industry education amongst consumers means that image theft is increasingly common.

SOLUTION

Pixsy takes the stress out of fighting image theft in multiple countries. For Amanda, it has been an invaluable service when, as a freelance photographer based in Thailand, she is regularly swamped with high levels of admin work. Fighting global infringements is made much easier by Pixsy's sophisticated tools and friendly case management teams.
